Invited to dinner tonight by my Soul Family, to Emmets Social Table in Waxhaw. Oh my goodness that area has grown so much over the past decade+ it reminded me of what Union County was like when I first arrived 20 years ago. A clean, quaint downtown area on South Main Street (and a parallel street with a Jekyl and Hyde and other shoppes) with so many small cozy places to visit/eat etc. I cannot wait to go back and try “Holy Cannoli” …. “Capriccis” …. “Foxs Pizza Den” … “Mary O’Neills Irish Pub” to name only a few by the way! Something tells me this is a Foodies Paradise!! In any case, if you have an opportunity to get out that way, it’s approximately 10 miles from Ballantyne and 12 miles from Indian Trail. I wish I had gotten pictures of all the dishes, but even more reason for me to go back - and I definitely will be back! The crabcakes were very good —— figured I was on a roll lately so, why not “More Crab Cake” (queue up the cowbell reference 🤣)! this is the fourth crabcake entrée I’ve had in four weeks 🥹 There were stuffed avocados, Korean wings, homemade kettle chips - that were absolutely fabulous with a beautiful, flavorful, buffalo chicken dip! Baby back ribs, a wedge salad with bacon, German Sliders, BLT Sliders. South Main Deggs - Deviled Eggs - were really good (I think the only time I’ve ever had fried deviled egg was at Webb custom kitchen, if I’m not mistaken?) with pork belly and pepper jelly drizzle. Look at the beautiful bed of minced tomato and greenery that they sat on! It was so pretty.  The Brussels glazed with a Sriracha honey and and bacon were so good as well! Very flavorful and roasted beautifully. Perfect texture in my opinion. The kettle chips were tied with one of my favorites - the fried green tomatoes. Holy cow. What a great experience! New foods to try and share. We've never experienced this sort of dining. So sharing was done within your party. Dishes ordered were divided into single servings all in one plate. All the food was yummy! So much to try!!
Absolutely love this place! Everything we ordered was delicious! We visited to celebrate Father’s Day, and my dad loved the food. We got the South Main Deggs! Oh my gosh! So good! They’re deep fried deviled eggs! We also ordered the California flatbread which was delicious! We also got the BBQ ribs! The meat literally came off of the bone! Smoky deliciousness with a wonderful tangy sauce. My parents and I are already planning our next trip 👏😁 (I sadly only took one picture)
Food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the BBQ ribs and the tomato soup shooter(both were incredible). Normally, I take pictures before digging in, but these ribs were so good we couldn’t resist… we demolished them! The service was also fantastic. The only reason I can’t give a full 10/10 is because our plates didn’t arrive at the same time, which threw things off just a little. Other than that, everything was spot on. They really know what they’re doing here!
We had just left a grave yard service for my mother. Our hearts were heavy and our stomach’s were running on empty. Upon entering we felt welcomed. Now to discuss the food, unbelievable Cornucopia of offerings . We tasted four options and wished we had time for more. Every plate was packed with flavor. I felt the prices were very reasonable considering all the ingredients are fresh. Great job, we will return.
We went for a celebration lunch and sat on the patio — it was perfect! The service was amazing, and the beautiful weather made the experience even better. We shared several dishes, including the flatbread, salad, and those incredible fries. Everything was delicious. Can’t wait to come back!
This place was awesome! A lot of energy and people having a great time. 1st time here but I will be back. We tried a lot of the small plates. The Korean glazed wings were so flavorful and weren't overly spicy. Absolutely loved them. The south main deggs were ok. A little disappointed in them but that could just be my perspective. I've had a bad run with Mac and Cheese lately but this wasn't one of them. Very tasty and rich, especially with the "sauce" in the bottom combined with the pork. The caprese avocado was interesting. Enjoyed the combination of everything. It works but my only complaint would be that it was still in the skin which made it harder to eat. I know it adds to the presentation but it was just messy scooping everything out. We got the blackened fish and pork belly tacos. Both had such great, balanced flavor and they're like upscale street tacos. Finally, and I saved the best for last, are the ribs. Might be the best I've ever had. They are so tender yet the bark hard great texture which complimented each other. The flavor was smokey, sweat and just flat out amazing! If you don't try these you're making a huge mistake. I would go back just for them. Our waitress was amazing, so polite and informative. Just a great place with a great vibe, food and service.
5 stars across the board. Makaia (sorry I'm sure I spelled that incorrectly) was phenomenal and didn't complain when my table just kept finding more things to order. She was very communicative and friendly. I feel like our table of 5 ordered half the menu, and everything was beyond our expectations. This was our first time visiting. We met some friends for lunch and got there as soon as it opened. What a really nice place. They center around small plates for people to share and just loved that as we get to taste a little of everything. All the food was amazing, service was great and actually love the brick building the restaurant is located in. We cannot wait to visit again.
We took a day trip to Waxhaw and searched for small plates, which led us just a short walk from downtown to this gem. Our server, Maikia, was wonderful! She recommended the glazed Brussels sprouts and the kale salad—both excellent choices. I’m especially glad we tried the Tomato Soup Shooter. Such a fun and flavorful twist! I was wondering and forgot to ask if they use a local bakery for the bread stuffed with pimento cheese. I could see this being done with sourdough. Yum! My husband ordered the Smokin’ Nachos. They were good, but I would have loved to see shredded or chunkier pieces of chicken for a heartier bite. I did share that feedback while we were dining. What truly blew me away, though, was dessert. Oh my! The ginger snap cookies (100 year old secret recipe) paired with local creamery ice cream and drizzled with that exquisite blend of coffee moonshine caramel was absolutely incredible. A perfect ending! We highly recommend this place. PS And we always love a beautifully restored, old converted mill—there’s just something special about dining in a space filled with history.
